Tom Ellison was convicted of the murder of his neighbour 58-year-old Ian Jupe.
He stangled him for his Post Office money card.
After killing him he went off and used the card to withdraw £480.10 after which he he returned to the flat and made some calls to Ian Jupe's phone in an effort to cover up for his crime.
